Large diamond found in state park

A large diamond of 4.68 carats was discovered in the Arkansas State Park on Saturday, in early September. Found in the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, this is the 612th diamond to be discovered by visitors here. Since its first discovery in 1906, the park has so far produced approximately 75,000 diamonds. This is the only state park where visitors can search for diamonds and keep them. The ‘crater of diamonds' is a good region for surface hunting and some visitors have even been lucky to get stones as large as 16 carats. Also the current tropical depressions of Gustav and Ike have improved the possibilities of finding diamonds here. The 4.68 carat stone was found by Richard Burke, a retired high school teacher. He named the stone ‘Sweet Caroline' after the name of his wife and their favorite song by Neil Diamond.

Beware Flawless do have Flaws! 2007/11/10 09:16 Karma: 0
We all want a perfect life perfect companion and perfect diamonds to fit.

So when you go to shop for a diamond and offered a D FL (D color flawless stone)wait a second before jumping from joy.

Inclusions are measured in a x10 magnifier and that means that your diamond will have tiny flaws but they are not visible on a x10 scope.

Also bear in mind to check the date of the certificate a mishandling of the diamond might damage it and thus creating flaws that are not mentioned on the certificate.

Last and not least is the big flaw, its an industry secret so don't tell I mentioned it, D IF diamonds are EXPENSIVE!!! very expensive, a great deal more than any other diamond on the market and if you have a perfect companion he should care about that factor as well.

So a small advice if somebody insists only on D If he is not "The one"!
